![]() Journey of the Soul
What really happens after we die? A six-week journey into Judaism’s understanding of the soul, the afterlife, reincarnation—and what all of it can teach us about living more meaningfully right now. We know an extraordinary amount about what happens to the body. But what happens to the soul? Do the people we love still know about us? What does Judaism really mean by heaven, hell and reincarnation? And what do Kaddish, burial and shivah actually accomplish? Journey of the Soul explores these questions in a way that is thoughtful, deeply human and surprisingly relevant to life today. COURSE DETAILS 6 Mondays Attend: In person or live on Zoom LOCATION

Why I'm Bringing This Course Back ![]() Journey of the Soul was the very first JLI course I taught, back in 2015. In the eleven years since, I've found myself returning to its ideas again and again—especially when sitting with members of our community after the loss of someone they loved. Judaism's understanding of the soul doesn't remove the pain of loss, but it can offer an entirely different way of understanding life, death and the bond we continue to share with the people we love. That's a big part of why I've wanted to teach this course again. Whether these questions are deeply personal for you or you're simply curious, I'd really love to have you join me. — Rabbi Shlame Landa This Course Is for You If... You've ever wondered what Judaism really believes happens after death. You've lost someone you love and want to better understand Judaism's teachings about the soul. You're fascinated by questions about heaven, reincarnation and what comes next. No previous Jewish learning or background is necessary. Questions, curiosity and even a healthy dose of skepticism are very welcome. Journey of the Soul isn't simply a course about what happens after life. It's a course about life itself—what gives it meaning, what lasts, and how seeing the bigger picture can change the way we live right now. The Six-Week Journey
